Thermal analysis and ion mobility coupled to High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry for organic aerosol characterization
Anthropogenic pollution is an issue that has a severe impact on the environment, greatly affecting health and atmospheric conditions. Understanding the complexity of primary and secondary organic aerosols not just motivates the development of novel analytical approaches but reduce the considerable knowledge gap in the molecular composition of particulate matter (PM).
By implementating a variaty of evolved gas analysis techniques like GC, DIP, TOCA hyphenated to High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry it is seeked to optimize the strategies that provides a structural elucidation of carbonaceous aerosol fraction of primary aerosol sources as well as aged emissions. Thereby to expand the database and alternatives of Instrumental techniques commonly used for the characterization of organic aerosols will help to link influence of particulate matter with human health aspects and climate change.
